Frequently Asked Questions: Q & A about Life Coaching By: Eric M. Doroshow Q: What is your role as a Life Coach? A: I often partner with young and retiring professionals and entrepreneurs to help them achieve their personal and professional aspirations. They are facing unprecedented challenges these days. I am often a sounding board for clients when they are exploring personal and career choices. Sometimes, I provide clients with a nonjudgement but a much-needed wakeup call and reality check. Q: What are your qualifications as a Life Coach? A: I completed 65 hours of Life Coach Training with the Certified Life Coach Institute. I received the degree of Certified Professional Life Coach on June 7, 2020, and Master Certified Life Coach on November 8, 2020. Q: When is the best time to seek Life Coaching from you? A: There is no best time. However, clients often come to me because there is a gap in their life between where they are and where they want to be. The gap can originate from many different things including: the client’s personal life, work life, career, and the pandemic’s ramifications. We work together to bridge these gaps. Q: What can I obtain if I successfully complete the Life Coaching? A: Very simply, a successful outcome helps the client move forward more productively in his or her personal and professional life. Clients can look at their life in a more positive way and stop waiting for the other shoe to drop. We also work to strengthen the client’s support system. Q: What are the benefits of working with you as a Life Coach? A: I have found that life coaching can provide a difference in someone’s life if the client is willing to make some commonsense changes that we discuss together. It is a team effort: I do not give answers as much as ask important questions to move the ball forward. Q: What are some of the topics you cover as a Life Coach? A: The most common topics I cover with clients are improving time management, hiring, and training staff, improving, and implementing a work life balance, and making effective career choices. Q: What does it cost and how do I get started? A: I offer a free 30-minute initial coaching session. After that, I charge $50/hr. per 30-minute session.
