Q: What kinds of medical malpractice cases are there?

A: Whenever a healthcare provider has not followed the standard of care and a consumer has been injured, Delaware law could provide for a medical malpractice claim. However, there are some common mistakes made during pregnancy and birth delivery including: misdiagnosis of problems, allowing a delivery to take too long, applying to much pressure to the baby's head, neck or shoulder, failing to closely monitor the baby's health after birth. If any of the above lead to injury which could include paralysis or severe brain injury, there may be a claim.
